I need a recommendation on a book about employment law. I'm self employed and have about 25 staff, I dont know enough about hiring and firing, grievance procedures etc and the last thing I want it to end up in a tribunal and taken for thousands of pounds.

cheers.

At the CAB we use:

Employment Law: an advisors handbook by Tamara Lewis published by Legal Action Group. ISBN 1-903307-20-1

Hope this helps.

Either that or consider outsourcing your HR issues to an external HR consultancy.

May not be as expensive as you think and They have all the knowledge on hand.

I'm in the family business with around the same number of staff as you.

I'd suggest finding a local firm that can help as the law changes too frequently to keep up and if you say the wrong thing or don't follow the right procedure you can land yourself in more trouble than the employee.

Spoken to a company I have dealings with and they are willing to contact you.

If you need assistance let me know
