Empty unit as registered office re freee business rates

Going to give the local council a call to verify but was wondering if any knows whether an empty industiral unit can qualify for free rates if it is the registered office of the company?

Id prefer any mail not to come to my home address and instead go to the empty unit. Unit wont be empty for ever but dont want to pay business rates if I dont have to.

Rateable value is under £18k so qualifies for free rates.
