Hi all,

I am not too sure if i enabled ACHI correctly.

I first enabled ACHI mode under storage configurations (i think its called) in the BIOS. But then after installing W7 i then discover that there was another section where ACHI mode can also be enabled. I think this was under Onboard Configurations.

My question is have i enabled ACHI mode at all or will i have to do Hdderase and start again?

Motherboard- asus P6x58d-e
OCZ Vertex 2e 90Gb

I made this mistake. I have a sata hdd, but didnt enable ACHI before installing windows, so I just choose the compatibility option.

Wonder have my performance I lost?

krisab, it depends on which controller you are currently using? Sounds like you initially enabled AHCI on the Intel controller and provided your drive(s) is plugged into an Intel port (blue) you should be good to go. I suspect the additional option you found is for setting the mode on the Marvell SATA3 controller. You could in fact disable this completely for slightly quicker boot times.
