Anyone got this who would like to share their opinion?

Whats it like, how would you compare it to other games in its class?

Next purchase is likely to be this or Dead Rising

Athough this may not be helpful since I do not have the game I have been told on many occasions that it is very linear and loses its beauty towards the end of the game when landscaes become stark and somewhat plain.

It seems like a good bet for an old-school style RPG but I personally have been put off after so many bad reviews, even though I was quite excited about this. (Big Japanese rpg fan).

As for Dead Rising, you'll either love or hate it so I guess try one, if you don't ike it swap for the other? :P

^Played through it here and that's pretty much what I have to say about it. Not a terrible game but there are better J-RPGs out there, just not on 360... yet? You're gonna be wanting to wait for some of these

Got both but love Dead Rising so much I haven't even put Enc. Arms in yet.

Not sure what this says about Enc. Arms but it says a lot about Dead Rising... GET IT!

McManicMan is the man to speak to, however, I've put around 8 hours into it... so I'll give you my opinion.

It's stunning graphically, the story is solid and the characters are interesting, the soundtrack is very nice and there's plenty of golems to make.

However... the game is incredibly linear, about as much as I've ever seen, it's always in straight corridors with one way in and one way out.
The Battle system is ok but the frequency of battles is plain annoying, it's ALL the time and it has a stupid VP system where you more often than not run away from battle (even after using a potion to give health in a fight it's back to 1 for the next).

It's a pretty solid RPG, but believe me, Final Fantasy it is not.

Go for Dead Rising, more depth (which is what RPG's are supposed to be!) and much more to do, it's also very amusing and constantly changing.

LOL @ NokkonWud

it ain't bad, i think the leveling up is abit wacked when you reach the final boss if you ain't played the casino a fair few hours then you got no chance of beating final bosses as the game don't dish out enough Ex points to get your character high enough.

Overall i found the story actually very amusing - the GAY character is rather amusing, lol, the battles are annoying as FF and totally random but later you do get a chance to buy something that'll help you skip these but not until 80% of the game is done so in the end abit pointless but it helps. Also found most of the battles could be done on Auto setup if you used the casino wisely for your EX points build up so hardly any interaction is required apart from press a couple of buttons until you come across the bosses where its best to do it manual.

Took me 32 hours from start to finish with about 5 hours in the casino earning cash leveling up (boring but a must), so IMHO its good but not great and has flaws, i think this game should be treated as a interactive storybook rather than an indepth RPG as it is very, very linear with no real sideline quests which it could have done with
