My SanDisk USB drive is doing some very odd things to my computer:

1. It's showing in Device Manager under Disk Drives as SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 USB Device and in Portable Devices (as working properly)
2. It appears in File Explorer as Removable Disk (F:) but upon clicking it, File Explorer eventually goes 'Not responding'
3. But it causes Disk Management to either never load (stuck connecting to Virtual Disk Service) or it simply doesn't show in there when I insert it after having let Disk Management load to show my other drives.
4. It can cause the screens to go blank when inserted...

Any pointers as to what to do? Online guidance seems to rely on access to it in Disk Management, and that's not loading.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

USB 3.0... Have you got the USB settings (In Power Settings) to not go into sleep/low power mode? There was an old tendency where the power saving settings would cause the attached USB device to become non responsive and could corrupt the entire drive and stalling the rest of the system. It doesn't impact on USB 2.0 or less ports, only 3.0 specifically I believe. So suggestion here is:
1. Check the power settings for USB. Disable any power saving etc.
2. Try USB 2.0 port.
