Hello I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best way to encrypt data on a flash drive.

Is it best to stay away from the famous program's like truecrypt? On the basis they're popular and as such would have more focus on people trying to bypass.

I have admin rights on the pcs it will be used on so that's not an issue. Just kind of stuck and was wondering.

Ok I'll stick with that :D

Just hear horror stories like RSA being paid and so on. Hence wondering if it would be better to go with an unknown.

Cheers.

You have to put it into context though. It's not like somebody can trivially bypass the weakened encryption.

And with encryption, the advice would be the exact opposite: go with something that's very well known and researched.

Truecrypt can be trusted, there's even a crowdfunding going on to ensure it's validity via an audit etc.

So +1 for Truecrypt, it is a very nice application :)

It's a concern how it's not been properly audited before now. When somebody makes the "many eyes" argument about open source security look no further than TrueCrypt for a reality check.
