End of contract - yet still need to give 30 days notice?

Hi,
My 12 month EE contract ends in a few days, I just called up to request my PAC code but I have been told I need to give 30 days notice. Am a little confused that I should have to do this given the contract is over? Can anyone help? Is this getoutable? The only reason I want to leave is that I will be out of the country for 2 months and they wont freeze accounts.

When I've done it before I've usually been given a PAC code straight away and then just paid for the 30 day notice period. Call back and ask if you can do that?
 
I've just called T-Mobile / EE for my PAC code. Gave it immediately but it only remains active for 30 days.

It says in the contract that you signed / agreed to that you would give 30 days.

You can't get out of it. If you're deployed as part of the armed services there is an exception available for all networks, you may need to provide proof.
 
Your contract doesn't end until you give notice. I've no idea why people think the contract 'ends' after 24 months, it doesnt, it's a continuous contract with a minimum term.

The issue is that they often want 25 months worth of payment because they won't let you give notice to cancel until 24 months has gone to rope you in to an extra month.
 
Generally they give you the PAC code over the phone, when used it cancels your old contract which then a final bill will be produced and invoiced to you.

Never had a problem calling up with one month to go and cancelling, so that my contract ends exactly after the 12 or 24 months are up.
 
You must be very gulliable and never even check contracts.

Or more than likely just dont phone up at least a month in advance.
 
You arent even being consitent. Is 25months for a 24month contract, now its mythical 25month contracts, care to show us these contracts.

No, it doesnt exist as it doesnt exist. A 24month contract is guess, 24months.

So you actually decided to read my post properly then?

I'm not saying there are 13 and 25 month contracts, I'm talking about the rubbish that CS talk and claim that you can only give notice after 24 months has passed.
