End of the world for the Jaaaag maybe!!

113 quid & you can fit it yourself, I'd call that a result.

Well I've had it towed to Jaguar specialist, left it with them, I aint fitting a radiator in this yuck weather, I'll pay a professional to do the job. :)

She lives! :)

Garage come back, engine is fine, head is fine, no signs of anything getting too hot and all it needs is radiator.

Hopefully she'll be done Monday or just after Christmas.

Nice one. That car is turning out to be quite a useful tool for you. I wonder how much cash it's saved you by not having to drive the Porsche in winter.

Probably not a lot to be honest, as if the Porsche broke, warranty claim. :D

In depreciation though, tyres, fuel, probably quite a bit.

I average about 17mpg in the 911, yeah I drive it fast everywhere:D wheras the Jaguar is closer to 25mpg average and since owning it I've done about 13,000 miles in the Jaguar.

Plus on these cold winter mornings, the Jaguar is a far nicer place to be and if it does snow its outfitted with Winter Tyres so I can still get about. :)

And if the worst happens on some ice, you'll be crying rather less about the Jag than the Porsche I suspect :D

Just a quick heads up.
Had the radiator go on my 2002 Jaguar S-Type and sourced one from ebay my self.
Be careful as some S-Types have an oil cooler on the radiator... had to send one back. :)

I don't understand all the worriers on here. I've had the mispleasure of driving a few cars that have let coolant go for a mile or two until its safe to pull over with no damage whatsoever. As long as there is airflow you'd be surprised just how far you can go without issue. It's when sat still in traffic that you'll have a problem. glad it's fine but from the minute I read your op I didn't think any further damage would have been done.

I don't understand what you are on about. As usual.

Did no one watch the top gear Porsche challenge? look at what jc put the 928 through I think gibbo's jag got off very lightly :)

I do.
Cooling systems fail from time to time, as he said (his past track record ignored ) 9 times out of 10, no issue, part(s) repaired & carry on.

The web is full of worse case scenario's, the 99% of other times when **** all serious happens and the fault is fixed & the vehicle lives on, is not mentioned.

Had he been mr clueless average motorist, this thread would have been the former not the latter.
Vehicles can generally take a lot of abuse prior to ultimate failure, they are designed with mr average joe in mind, not your Porsche owning car enthusiast.

Fortunate for Gibbo he's the latter of the two.
