Ello. A friend of mine wants a website where he will be able to update the content himself on a regular basis without having to use dreamweaver or an ftp to upload new stuff. We're probably only talking text so a bit like a blog really. How would you go about setting something like this up as I've never had to do anything like this before.

Cheers

You can use a pre0built CMS(Content Management System) or you can create one yourself to cater for his exact needs.

I've always ended up creating them from scratch as it runs exactly how you want, if you know how to code in PHP/ASP

can also ask them to use Adobe Contribute

if you want online CMS system then I recommend WordPress for simple, smaller sites or MODX for bigger ones.

wordpress is probably going to be your best bet but then i doubt u'd be able to customise it very much to the site you currently have if you have no expeirence in this field. second bet is build it yourself but again giong to have to learn langauagauges like php and mySQL which will take some time to learn.

so bascially this will probablly be a lot of work for you to do so make sure the owner knows this isn' a simple job and if it is really required or just wanted.
Love you
