Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - PC

Yeah, there are a number of people who don't realy think about what they are doing. They just rush in and kill, kill, kill! Which just doesn't help, and really I don't think its what the game is for. Hopefully they will go back to quake 4 or something.

Tried playing as the medic last night. Great fun. Got my butt handed to me on a platter as I was always having to run in the open to get to different team mates, but still fun!

Many people think the medics are pointless, and I have to say that I disagree. A good medic can save the team a lot of time. And I dunno, there is something very satisfying about when a team mate revives you/ you revive a team mate.

Though people playing medic do need to learn to throw out more health packs - along with field ops dishing out ammo.

Think I will spend a fair amount of time playing medic class, once I got the field ops mastered.
 
i'm really enjoying it, though i went to go online and there didn't seem to be many populated servers? maybe it was just cos it was sunday night. i really like the unlock system (the way it only lasts the campaign or round) seems to even it all in terms of equipment for me.

i keep coming back to the engineer, i love those mines and deployables :D i reckon with proper coordination and teamwork this game will rock, i don't play anything online (since Planetside anyway) but i could see myself really getting into this one. is there an OCUK clan or server or anything?
 
played as a tecnitian last night, awsome when your holding an area. just seed the room with health packs for the engineers and soldiers and make as many spawn hosts as you can, few kills in between. was on that map where they pick up the data disc from a body outside the base and take it to the terminal at the top of the mountain. they didnt even get to the first objective because we kept spawning at the generator thing. spawn hosts rock.

Theres loads of populated servers, but for some reason the browser finds some, stops for a minute or so, then fills up with the rest of the servers, at least thats what happens with me.
 
I dont get this game, i tried playing it last night and i just thought it played like a 10 year old game with nice graphics. Expected more tbh.

Is there a single player aspect to this ?

Seems a lot like Crysis multiplayer to me. Only Crysis looks a bit better. So you are likely not to enjoy that either.

What exactly are you expecting, if I may ask?

Perhaps for me I am more easily impressed than some as have nver played any of the large scale mp games before, such as the battlefield series.

I went in with no expectations, thankfully, and have had a ball playing it. For the first time in a long time, I simply can't wait to get home to load up and play more.

Would be nice to get a bunch of OCUKers together some night for some fragging :)
 
Don't suppose there is anyone who could set up an OCUK server?

I would not know the requirements of doing so. Are there people who can do this for free, or would it be neccessary to pay for a server?

Edit: Ouch. Jsut been looking at cost of renting game servers... generally over £30 for what I can find in UK, or around $30 if using one in US. Although, am enjoying this so much I might be tempted to get one in the states.

What would the response times be like you think?

not sure how anyone could think the medic is pointless, the supply box alone makes the class imba as not only does it give health/ammo but also nades !
 
Picked this up earlier in the week and am really enjoying it, was always playing as the 'human food' but I totally love the Strogg now. Stuck with bots as I don't have broadband at the mo but still great fun.

Just discovered the awesome map Volcano - just like beach from the old ET.
