Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - PC

Its definately a grower this game, didnt think too much of it when I first played but really enjoy it now.

Usually play as covert ops as mastering this is a real art. Love using the flyer drones too as strogg, killing them is no longer enough - have to fly it in front of their face to rub their nose in it!

Fanstastic against GDF covert ops, not much they can do about flyer drones armed with a barrett :D

Busy trying to get field ops/oppressor down. Think this and covert ops are the harder ones.

Not sure but that flying bug thing always makes me laugh :p Just looks so stupid and clumsy in the air.

i think the jetpacks are probably the best as they allow the strogg to get to otherwise unaccessible positions. This combined with being behind the front line, can cause havoc when used properly. The stroy (water!) bombs though are pretty useless and should be used for harrassment at best. Im sure they can be used effectively but trying to target them accurately more than often leaves me a sitting duck.

Aye, will probably move on to that next.

Not really played with the vehicles much myself. They just don't appeal much. Not only in this game, but pretty much any fps game I play, I just don't enjoy vehicles.

Will start having a go with them once I got down how to just run around and be effective on foot.

how do i unlock all the weapons? i unlock them on a certain class then i log in a new server and they've disapeared.

What difference does it make exactly when the advanced flight controls are activated? I didn't really notice much of a difference when I was messing around with it.

Advanced flight controls turns off the vehicles stablisation. With them switched off , the vehicles will auto level them self , so you can't really lose control and you can only tilt them a small amount. With the adavanced controls turned on , you get full control , but no help at all so it's easy to lose control , but you can do more stuff like point straight up or down , fly up side down , do loops , fly sideways.

Ah right, thank you. Come to think of it, I remember almost doing barrel rolls in the Tormentor with them switched on.

Anyone playing the game off Steam? I'm totally put off it because it's made such a botched up job of Bioshock (which to this day is still not fixed) and other non-Valve games in the past. Quake Wars ok to buy off Steam without a hitch?

I bought it through Steam, and have had no problems whatsoever.

Just be sure to write down the cd key it gives you. Might be easy enough to find out but better safe than sorry.

Also, the game can not be minimised so having a written version will be neccessary - unless you have photographic memory.

Think of the weapon unlocks as similar to field upgrades in BF2142--if you play BF2142, that is.

This is the only thing that really bugs me about this game. I love everything else, find it far more fun to play than 2142, but the short term unlocks / loose them after a campaign thing is just dumb, especially since they track your stats to carefully.

it's a lot cheaper to buy somewhere else other than steam.

Also really enjoying the game, loving the launchers :>

only gripe i have is all the noobs using the heavy stuff to defend and no penalty for tking. 4-5 of their own team there and 1 enemy jumps in but some idiot in a tank still thinks it's ok to lob a shell in. 1 frag for him and a few of his teammates dead. can't wait for them types to get bored and move on, then i can see this game turning into a cracker.

edit: now i think back Tribes 2 was the same(heavys defending the base with mortars), hope it doesn't put too many people off like it did with T2.
