I'm currently running a 3850, but haven't played a game on my PC for 6 months, and mostly just surf now, so looking to downgrade to something with much lower power consumption.

Any cheap recommendations please? :)

true - the 3850 is a great little card - very versatile

i have one in my office/media rig

i would perhaps suggest going for something like a HD2400 or something that doesnt require a power lead

tbh you may as well stick with what you have incase you see a game you want a crack at!

The 3850 is quite energy efficient indeed, being bested by the 4670 which both matches it in performance, but doesn't require a 6-pin connector and consumes about 15W less power under load according to this.

That looks ideal, probably still overkill, but worth looking into anyway!

It does but the difference in price between the 2 after he/she sells would buy a lot of electricty.

4850 need only one 6 pin connector , but there is more efficient cards out there but less performance.

8800gt/gts uses small amount of power

edit: downgrade from 3850 get 4670
