Energy Shift - anybody else signed up?

I've just signed up to something called Power Rewards. Apparently they may £3/kWh. Honestly have no idea how any of it works yet, so will see what happens. They haven't given any instructions yet...

Energy Shift is what E.on call it but other suppliers may have their own catchy name for it. It's where the energy supplier pays you to reduce your energy consumption at a given time.

My first target is to achieve 0.4kWh between 17:00 and 18:00 tomorrow, where normally our usage is 0.9kWh at that same time period.
How did you register? Eon:next sites suggest you will be contacted if eligible?

Last time I saved about a 3rd of a khw and got about 88p.
This time I had everything shut off, and then half way through, the wife sticks the oven, extractor, 2 unnecessary light zones and the hob on. Probably won't save a lot. I'm not really doing it for the money though, it's more the principle of cutting down tbh.

I'm not sure of the exact ins and outs of it, but I do know you need to have a smart meter at least. I signed up for half-hour billing a little while ago and they emailed back in late October asking if I wanted to take part in these energy shift events.

Thanks. I just double checked some extra info and you also need to be signed up to receive "Marketing" emails in order to get the invite.

I still don't think British Gas have launched their similar scheme yet...

Although given how poor their usual billing and meter readings is, that's not a surprise.
