To be honest other countries put in more effort than we do - what have we put out that has deserved to win recently? Russia had one of their most famous pop stars, known across most of Eastern Europe. Lena from Germany had a hit album across Europe too.

There's been a switch away from cheesy recently and the countries that do well generally put something much better than the UK does out there. Engelbert will do badly because it looks to Europe like we are disrespecting the competition.

Oh I agree that we haven't had a decent performance, but even if we did we still wouldn't win. Countries tend to vote for their neighbours etc and most countries seem to hate us.

I don't really know much about the competition and how acts are picked. The UK has a LOT of talented singers, why do they use crap hasbeens like Blue? Why not use someone like Edelle? (I don't like her music but she is popular).
