Engine Overheating

Ok, don't cry.

I think its just the implication on this forum that if you ever bother to check anything on your car, it's becuase you have no life. It's a bit tiresome and frankly a tad retarded.

Remember the abuse I got for daring to suggest Drexel should have checked his tyre tread before he went for an MOT? :p

It depends on your garage. Some will check for you and put it as an advisory if it's low on tread whilst other won't and will just fail you for being too low. Dunno about anyone else but I'd rather not have the hassle of going away with a fail and having to get new tyres within 48hrs or whatever in order for a free retest.

Err it doesn't 'depend' at all, if its below 1.6mm you fail if it isnt you get an advisory

I didn't say it was hard. I inferred I couldn't be bothered to check REGULARLY.

I do check monthly, but I wouldn't call monthly regular.

i aint crying?

monthly is a lot more regular than some people who dont check service to service lol

errr yeah, then you fail and have to pay again? (i know u get free retests at most garages). its also a waste of your time.

whenever we have a MOT soon we check everything over because you dont want to be failing on silly things like that.

and anyway who would want to run around on bald tyres?

Oil/coolant I check about every 3 months. It never seems to burn/use any oil so I just don't see the need to check it more often :/ Tyre pressures I do pretty much every other time I clean the car.

woah - my post was a simply joke.

You need to find yourself a friendly indy that will advise of the tread and let you supply your own tyres that they can fit ;)
