Engineer repair points on Battlefield 2

End of for me, if you want a hammering on BF2 check by our server, type in =103= in your server search

Of course i have Never Stat padded why would i.
I have just played the game from day one and have got any awards as and when i have earnt them.
From my point of view the stats mean nothing and they are just a single player bonus rolled into my online play.
I have just gradually worked my way through all the classes enjoying the game as much as i can.

Also it says a lot to me that you invite me onto YOUR server for a hammering.
Is that not one of those one sided private servers then :p

haha no
We try and keep our server as even as possible.

Hope you come by one time :)

I pride myself on playing Solo and without friends and clans to booster my points and have since day 1.
I just join Any server go SL and play for My Team.
I play on Any server where there is a battle going on. Not my own or my clans server.
There is a good chance i'll be on your server sooner or later as i play quite a bit.
I am also pretty easy to recognise ingame as my username is malc.

Yer that is a depressing stat but there's not much you can do about it apart from give 100% to your team at the time.
Stats are BS though lets face it. They can be manipulated in lots of ways.
Some dudes with high scores are terrible to play with these days as all they want to do is protect there K/D ratio and spend most of the round hiding behind others.
Also most are big headed ***** who shout there mouth of and whinge if things don't go there way which often leads to them leaving a losing side and finding another server.

I have said many times that the noobs are the dudes that really get stuck in these days and those are the dudes i want in my squad.
Once a guy has reached Sergeant then he is a Damn good BF2 player.
The Only advantage of being a high rank is your squad fills quick and you get revived Loads

The only stat I really care about is the team wins vs team losses and unfortunately Im on less then 1:1 there.

Think im at a 4 win loss ratio. Never team switch but lately I command like 95% of the time.

Edit: 3.38 w/l ratio.

Why would I pad? I play the game for fun, I find it fun trying to get awards. I very much doubt I'd find sitting in an up-turned boat holding down a mouse button.

The screenshot is too 'convienient' (sp?) Your team is down over 100 tickets, which tells me you've probably not been off of the carrier at all, maybe you had 1 flag, but you lost it quickly, leaving you next to no time to sit on a tank and get 10 repair points.

You say the chopper spawned and knocked you into the water, then where did that repair point come from? Repairing the Essex? No because you were by the chopper spawn. When you committed suicide why does the screen show that you were under the carrier bay, next to the boats. If the chopper knocked you off of the carrier you would be on the outside of the carrier.

Back to me and Malc padding, Why would we? "Like you've never padded before" Guilty concience?
I know for a fact, after playing with Malc he's a good player so shouldn't have any problems getting awards. I remember a post he made a while back about his pistol and knife badges. he couldn't get them very easily, he could have gone into a knife and pistol server and padded to get them but he didn't. He used nothing but knifes and pistols until he got both badges.

Same with my expert pistol. I could have hopped onto a knife and pistol server, but I didn't want to. I wanted the challenge of getting it properly, which I did.

anyone who plays an online game that thinks virtual awards and stats mean anything is missing the point

cheating and hacking is pathetic and impacts on people who are there to have genuine fun
stats padding in a boat is hardly gonna ruin the game or really have such an impact as to swing a public server
i pity the foo who does that just to extend a useless e-penis , remember 1942? we didnt need pointless awards or stats so there wasnt any 'padding' and shiz,

just play the game and enjoy it,

Ok so do you think BF2 would still be as popular as it is now without the stats system? Very much doubt it. Stats and awards have added a whole new dimention to the game making it much more fun.

I don't think stats 'mean' anything. I just like to look at them to see if I'm improving or whatever.

I know it's not going to ruin the game I just don't see the point in padding to get awards. The awards are supposed to be fun to get and I was just saying I don't see how someone could find sitting in an over turned boat holding a button fun.

i cant think of anything more stupid than padding as you describe and totally agree with you,
but the awards and pts are nothing, the thing that makes it fun is gameplay and opening up the unlocks; given they might not all be better weapons
afterall you dont get unlocks for skill, just time served tbh, and that might set an incentive in the short term

once you forget about stats the game becomes much more fun, niiice

I think it would be just as popular anyway and stats would just be collected on a server basis instead, we'd also have many custom maps which would be far more fun

Christ, OK I stat padded to get the award.
If I can't get it normally how else am I going to get it.
It wasn't fun as it only took 5 minutes then I left the server.
But I am happy that I finally got the award.

Steve

I know you padded anyway.

That comment wasn't even aimed at you. It was to everyone who uses the boat method to pad their repair points like these 2: http://www.bf2rankedservers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7057

EDIT: Repair points are much easier to get on SF as the rounds last longer, especially Ghost Town or Warlord. Got my expert at about 2am on Ghost Town. Our team was nearly pushed back to the uncap and was being base raped. Had the commander assets blown every time they were repaired. Died about 30 times with hardly any kills but it was all worth it.

I've never padded before and tbh its pointless. Even though some in here say that rewards ruin the game. Not really if you ask me, I like actually ranking up and getting medals/badges/ribbons etc. Even though I did have a lot of them on other accounts which I've always got legitly. I've never really played on a Pistol and Knife server. Well I did once and I got banned for throwing grenades :D . Anyway padding takes the fun out of the game. On one of my accounts I tried to get expert explosives and must have tried 100 times. Still don't have it, its frustrating but its a challenge.

The stats/awards/rank ups could even be a challenge to not sit around and cap flag getting the points. I prefer to command and snipe a lot. Main classes I use are Medic and Sniper. I go Medic if im capping flags, I don't really cap flags much now on Warlord etc because the points are usually littered with claymores. but on maps like Sharqi no problem. Im an all round player tbh.

now i have 2 concerns with this thread.

first is that i have never ever unlocked anything yet im always getting a lot of points, werthy of many unlocks. how doi get them as its never once said anything unlocked?

second is that an engineer point is so easyto get. i forget the name of the map cos been playing bf 2142 lately, its the one with in the town, all you got to do is knick a tank, go on the bridge when both teams have either side, then from a slight distance kill people until your tank gets damaged, reverse, repair, repeat. simple!

I dont think it ruins the game but it changes it and peoples motivation obviously. It has pluses and minuses, personally I'd be fine without it.

Ive not heard the boat trick before but I do sit in my van while repairing it, my excuse being it provides more cover that way and also in case my own team hijack it and accidently on purpose run me over in the process :o
Doing that gives points, I never exploit it. I suppose the exploit there would be to park it in water, sad.

Like I say the only stat Im impressed by is the team wins/losses but even that can be padded on dodgy servers with dodgy admins. Its like a cv I guess, you might be impressed but keep an open mind as it could all be lies :p

Find a 64 player server with about 40- 50 people on. Get in a tank with a driver who follows another tank round. Keep jumping out and repairing the two of them.

They'll both love you for it so stick together and you get a shed load of repair points.
