Yesterday I dropped all my screws on the stairs and I want to get them back in their boxes.
I sat down and after 5 minutes got bored trying to sort them out so what amazing contraptions/devices can you think of to sort the different sizes out more quickly?

I've got a super duper way of doing it that'll only take a minute or two but I'm not an engineer so can't tell you :P

Elaborate 'life-hack' cardboard and hot glue screw ramp sorter?

Won't take more than ten times the time to make it than just sorting them by hand :p

Put them all in the boxes randomly by just picking a pile up and dumping it in. Then, if you reach for a 1" screw and it's in the correct box then great. If you pick up a 1.5" screw then move it to the 1.5" box and repeat.

Etc..

If it'd happened here yesterday I'd have gone outside and thrown them up in the air. They'd have been sorted, by weight, down the road in no time at all; about five hundred yards down the road if I caught a good gust.

Additional bonus is that they'd have equipped passing vehicles with instant snow tyres. Rather flat snow tyres, but who wants fully inflated tyres in these conditions?

I'll open this to technicians also.

I might give this a go, it's still very windy here.
