Spread them out on the floor and walk across with bare feet. You can use the pain scale to sort them on a scale of 1-10 (assuming there are less than 10 sizes).
They were already sorted in those little green boxes when I bought them, I've now unsorted them
This is playing havoc with my imaginary OCD.
In fact my first problem is to get the little green boxes back in the box.
Sounds like this is going to need quite a methodical approach. I'd suggest coming up with a method of doing it and then completing a method statement for yourself. Evaluate the risks involved and assess what PPE you can wear to eliminate injury. Document this in a risk assessment. You'll then need to decide which way you want the screws to go in the boxes, from left being small to right being large or vice versa. Also, do you want the screws facing you when in the boxes or away from you? You may also want to consider some form of moisture absorption when stored to eliminate any corrosion. Perhaps store a screwdriver of the correct fitting near the box and if you really want to do it properly then add a bit holder and bit for a battery drill.
You've got one chance at this. Mess it up and you'll have to start again. Good luck soldier.

Perhaps he just needs to stay away from sharp objects![]()
A magnetic screwdriver will help.
Real men just ram their hands into the box and pick the right size out of their flesh.Real men don’t need a pansy box for storing them separately.
I did exactly the same thing... they are all forced randomly into boxes unsorted as I gave up trying![]()

You will need a series of magnets in varying strengths. The weakest will pick up just the small screws, then switch to next weakest for the next size up etc.

All magnets are capable of being used to apply varying strengthI thought of this, I wonder if you can get a variable strength magnet?
