What do you want, new or second hand?
Second hand check the NSRA forum, Custom Car magazine and whatever Street Machine is called these days (American Car World?)
New either import it yourself or pay the extra for a company like Real Steel to bring it in for you. You can do it much cheaper yourself but I hear a lot of people say the hassle and lack of peace of mind isn't worth it. I think you can get them direct from Summit. There are a lot of adverts in magazines like Street Rodder and Rod And Custom for new complete engines either stock or modified if you choose to bring it in yourself.

That's going to depend on how much cash I've got available. I need to change the rear end of the Stag to take the engine, and sort a 'box. The rear end conversion "kit" from Monarch is £1250 plus you need the E30 rear end in the first place, plus new alloys at £300 each. It sounds a lot, but I suppose you get a diff (reputedly) capable of taking the torque, new half shafts (Stag ones are a bit crap and suffer from spline lock up) and rear disk brakes, all of which would need to be done individually otherwise.
Also, as the rear end has to take the new wheels with different offsets to fit with the BMW shafts, I'll probably want to change the front hubs over to the large bearing types and have them ready to take the same size wheels
It's damn expensive, but relatively hassle free. If I can work it out for myself (or at least with a little help from my friends) then I can hopefully save a shed load of cash.
I'd prefer a new engine for reliability stakes, you never quite know with second hand, but I may have to look that route. British American are now selling LS series engines and the price seems reasonable, although I haven't actually compared them like for like to the prices boost[/irl] are charging (but Boost are only in Notts and so much easier to get to if I need to, could even maybe pick it up from there).
I need to sell the GT6C before I can really start with the expensive stuff, but thought I could start keeping an eye out for a bargain now. If a cut out from a shunted Camaro or something comes up for a few hundred quid, I'd grab it while the chance is there and use it as a coffee table or something until it's ready to go in
