English & European Football [24th - 29th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

Power football, chelsea make lesser teams look like total chumps when they play like that.

They beat man united and arsenal when they play like that too.

Good to watch, they way they build the play in the second third of the pitch with the talent they have, for me is the mark of the best teams iv'e watched in the last 30 years.

Deserved top of the league, ivanovic the unsung hero.. that boys realy got it.

Why won't it?

City still have to play Villa and Spurs.

Villa will bottle it.

Spurs are unpredictable, really.

Realistically liverpool would have to win all their remaining games and hope that none of the three teams above them does that. If the city/spurs game is not a draw then the winning team would be 4 or 5 points ahead with 2 games remaining.

Oh yeah, and liverpool have to play us next weekend. :)

Unless Spurs lose to Bolton and City draw with Villa on the Saturday then I hope we rest our entire 11 for the Chelsea game.

edit: If we get through on Thursday night then we'll do that anyway I'd imagine.

Wouldn't mind that as a chelsea fan ;)

ive got money on athletico, its good odds, plus they have aguero back this time, with no torres, gerrard getting two today means he wont score against athletico, you heard it here first

I'm actually quite annoyed at Stoke - what a bunch of weak-willed rubbish football players who laid down and took it like the bitches they are. Thanks for the stupid goal difference you chumps, how are you even in the PL?

edit: yeah, spot the MU fan :p

lol, do you really think they wanted to lose by that many? they tried their best, these things happen, i doubt your going to lose on goal difference anyway, the title will be decided on points

This league is looking mighty similar to the end of 2008's season though, where everyone thought it was going to eventually come down to goal difference (it didn't in the end, at the very last games for each side)

Liverpool have to be quietly confident that City have got to play both Villa and Spurs.

They can still finish 4th so they will put in a good effort on Sunday against Chelsea.
Only two teams have beaten Liverpool at home, Arsenal and Villa. Plus Liverpool haven't conceded more than 13 goals at home which is pretty good considering their league.

I reckon United will find it tough against Sunderland I can see a draw there and Liverpool getting a draw against Chelsea. We'll all see how it pans out pretty exciting season though.

The scoreline aside it was good to see a fighting attitude and a bit of confidence for a change.
If we play like that next week we'll be too good for Liverpool as well :)

I'll put a bet on spurs bottling it and finishing 6th. As a pool fan i look at the table and fixtures and hope for the best. With the season we have had the others will drop points only for us to lose the last game.

So if Liverpool rest most of there players against Chelsea (some thing i dont think they can afford to do) will they get a telling off and a fine?

Chelsea will beat Liverpool comfortably whatever team Rafa decides to put out, no Torres = no chance

Well done Chelsea, deserved champions

However good Reina is I cant see him keeping out Chelsea even away from home.

Which means Liverpool have to get at least 1, and probably more like 2 or three past Cech.......without Torres. Sorry not going to happen unfortunately

Stoke are ********* useless, its not going to come down to goal difference anyway, but that side where a freakin joke today (with or without the dubious penalty)

Sunderland away without Rooney will be very tough indeed - especially if Evra and Nani are still suffering.....

Regardless of whether we beat Madrid or not, there's nothing stopping us playing who we like on Sunday. After playing 4 games in 14 days and with all the traveling we can easily claim fatigue etc.

And even if we didn't get away with it, what punishment will we get? A suspended fine like Wolves got.

Being serious for 1 moment, everything will depend on Thursday and Saturday's games. If we go through on Thursday and results go against us on Saturday then I fully expect we'll rest players on Sunday, just like we'd have done regardless of it affecting the title race. However if we go out on Thursday then regardless of the results on Saturday we'll still play our best 11 and go out to win.
