English League Football ** spoilers ** [22nd - 25th October 2010]

No real complaints about Roy's starting lineup, absolutely no complaints about his tactics and no complaints with the attitude he sent the team out with. Good performance and he's dodged the fatal bullet this week but it does beg the question why it's taken so long for him to realise his tactics weren't working.

A win ! Crikey...colour me surprised :D

Well Roy will be positively messianic in his interview now, job safe then :)

Looked very good for most of the game too, a big change in confidence.

At least with that win it's 3pts between 7-18th (not taking into GD), so a few more positive results and it's all better for Hodgson/Liverpool.

I'd say a bit of the last few games were sorting structure, Fulham were like that, but he's obviously realised he hasn't got the style of players available to him to play his old school type ways, so is using Liverpool's own style with his structure. They looked very good for the most majority of the game today!

Look on the bright side - he has realised it and changed things. At least he's not afraid to do that, even if he hasn't outrightly admitted he was wrong.

Good game this afternoon, can't see any reason for the ref not sending off that horrible little Neville **** at all, he bottled it, big time.

Only major weakness was Huth at right back again, not his fault though, he's not a full back, never has been, never will be, Fergie had the sense to exploit that though so fair play - Jones was having one of his off-days, a combination of not being arsed and being shut out well by Rio/Vidic.

That scumbag who got onto the pitch after Burrito's 2nd is pretty clever, lifetime ban from all grounds for him, good thinking. :)

1.30pm kickoff has thoroughly confused my bodyclock. :p

Those two Fabregas passes inside the first 5 minutes were out of this world, the second may have won the game. How hasn't De Jong been booked?? His first booking for the foul on Fabregas wasn't even blown for, then he hacks him down as he's running into the box and no booking??

Also Nasri, what a player.

I genuinely think Nasri could be the next Zidane. His vision, touch, passing and finishing are truly immense.

it's 1 game liverpool fans but it's a start although a home win against blackburn isn't something to get too excited about but as i said, it's a start

I'd say a big part isn't even about their result, they actually played confidently, and for once...well.

My main worry was that he wouldnt or couldnt change it. Particularly with a lot of the stuff he's been saying about "why change it now?". Hopefully we can move on from here.

Indeed, I am keeping my feet firmly on the ground, hell today could have been a big fluke, I'll wait to see what system we play in the next game and how we play. Roy has seen today how he SHOULD do it, now to see if he realises that and sticks with it or reverts to type so to speak.

Blimey what a game, and we've only had the first half! When Boyata got sent off I thought this was going to descend into a defending snooze fest but certainly not. No complaints about the desicion and none with Kompany either. Very silly both of them, should know better (well slightly expectant from Boyata but not Kompany). Nothing needs to be said about Joe Harts save :D

Odd to not see Song booked for the exact same challenge Barry was booked for about 2 minutes earlier, and he's since been booked, though obviously can't say for certain he'd have been booked for the second if he had been for the first. Really hope this goes to 10v10 though. We're already taking you on a man down and I honestly think if we both go down to ten men we'll take it.

Shame to see it's gone this way so soon, but a lot of promising things being seen in this 10 man City side.

Jekyll and Hyde 2nd half from us today. Totally bossed the first 25 minutes and looked like we'd score whenever we went forward then for some reason we decided to try and hold onto the 1 goal lead

Not sure how we didn't get a pen when it was 1-0; Soto was about to head the ball into an empty net and gets blatantly pushed into the goal.

Hopefully we can build on this and put a little run together.

I hope so but given he's stuck to the same old boring tactics throughout his 35 year career it'll take more than one game to convince me he'll change his ways for long. If we play like that for the next 8 league games I might change my opinion of him but until then I still want rid.
