Enjoying the L4D2 gameplay but not the servers...

Is it me or the match making is worse in L4D2? me and a group of friends keep getting put in high ping servers. Sometimes we enter the game and it just gets disconnected... We all have that update what came out yesterday.

Even so, when i click quick match i always get put in a game where i have 1000 ping..im not the only one, a lot of people i know usely get sent to a game where they have 400-500 ping...

Anything i can do to stop this or do i have to keep entering and exiting games to get a server with decent ping and no lag?

Before creating a lobby, enter console and put in the following (no spaces except the first one, sometimes this forum seems to add them in):

mm_dedicated_force_servers 94.23.222.136:29021,94.23.222.136:29025,94.23.222.136:29029,85.234.148.165:27095,94.23.222.136:29039

This will force you to one of the standard OcUK servers. Once you get to grips with that then there is always Insanity Versus. Join the steam group and join us for some games if you like. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/OCUKLeft4Dead
 
I think the server updates have ballsed up the dedicated servers lately. I know my server decided it wasn't sv pure the other day and wouldn't allow people to join dispite having had people playing on it earlier and being up to date, a restart sorted it though. Also you've got to remember that when an update comes out it takes awhile for the servers to catch up, so you won't be playing off a dedicated server and have a higher ping as a result.
 
cheers! ill join the OCUK servers. Never knew they had any. I feel better that it isnt me now. Hopefully another update soon will fix the servers :)

entered one server and just got kicked for ... no reason? i didnt even get to spawn...

My latest 3 cfgs that i edited earlier were 1, 2, 5, 7 (defrag), 8.
Insanity is 3, 4
8v8 is 6

And for (in)sanities sake i have them all on HLSW (Half Life Server Watch) so i can check which are free or if they've been updated.

2 servers are public and the rest you may be kicked if you ninja'd a spot and you look like a public player. Its nothing personal if you do.

You will of course normally be asked to leave first.

OcUK 5, 7 & 8 are of course public so there may be randoms on them meaning an instant kick may be possible.

I've added you to friends marc, so i'll invite you into an ocuk game at some point. You are coming up as Overdrive.

Just looked and it was OCUK 5 i entered. It was probably because someone was waiting to join and coudnt so i got kicked.
 
Servers 1, 3, 5 and 8 have a game going (8 is 7/8 public game). Easiest ways to check are to be in the OcUK L4D group and the servers come up on the main menu or just sign up for HLSW and add the IPs to it so you can check quickly. The other 4 servers are empty.
 
KK i was just wondering if you needed another, we have a massive box (oh err) with plenty of capacity. Anyway Linky knows where I am.
