Entry level RC car?

Guys the little fellas birthday is now less than two weeks ago, so I need to get something ordered, but I am still quite far from understanding what I need.

To re-iterate it is for a 6yr old (but obviously I will help him care for it).

Priorities:

1.robustness, longevity & easy to fix
2. Straightforward to setup and use - probably RTR (I am totally new to RC)

It will be driven around are garden and perhaps taken to the park/ footpath through the woods.

I think so far I have had recommended:

1. Vantage @ £109

2. FTX edge @ £89

3. Brushless Quanum Vandal @ £88

From what I understand the first two options, are nearly 100% rtr as in they come with chargers and I only need to buy batteries.

The 3rd option doesn't come with a battery, so I would need to buy battery + charger + storage pouch. Anyone able to recommend me the remaining parts for option 3? what is the "true" overall cost.

What are the advantages/ disadvantages of these 3 options? which one should I go for?
 
FTX Vantage gets my vote.

Anything with "RTR" in the title means Ready To Run. Charge up the battery in the car, stick some AA batteries in the controller, off you go.

The other one FTX is 2 wheel drive which is fine but 4 wheel drive is much more capable, and young kids love seeing how far they can push their car. Option 3 will also be fine but for convenience and simplicity I'd get the Vantage.


So basically get the Vantage and a pack of double A batteries and sing happy birthday to the lad.

No offense fella, but have you put any effort in to this at all, or have you simply come on here expecting everyone to do the leg work for you?

Watch this vid from 2:30, this kid explains it fairly well (except that it's 1800mah not volts, and nimh means nickel-metalhydride which is a basic battery type:



As he says, grab a couple of extra batteries and a quickcharger if your lad takes to the hobby.
