I have the Q9550 and have set up the bios to run the normal 333 to 400 thereby overclocking the CPU from 2.83 to 3.41Ghz and getting an FSB of 1600.

The memory sems to automatically speed up to when selecting this option, it's automatic under the Bios.

I have also disabled C1E and also C2E and also EIST function. When I run CPU Z the multiplier is set to 6 rather than the normal 8.5 but when I put the CPU under load the muliplier jumps to the 8.5

I would expect the system to run at x8.5 constantly as I have turned of the options in the bios. Perhaps I miss something?

Help!

You're sure you've turned off Speed Step in the BIOS? I've never had this problem once it's been turned off, although there really isn't much point in doing so - as you say, when the CPU is needed it'll bump it up.

My Q9550 can play WoW and still be at 6x mult. :D
