** EPIC AMD GRAPHICS CARD DEALS ALL IN ONE THREAD!! **

Great offer's the 7990 is very tempting but gonna sit here on the fence, just bought a 680gtx last week for 240 to go in my current rig. Looking for two cards once my folding build starts, will see what happens on the 25th and what the green camp respond with...???
 
That Gigabyte 7990 at £469.99 is a great offer.

Would I see any benefit going Trifire with my setup below or should I stick with my XFire setup on my 30" monitor?

Pairing 7990 with your 7970 xfire would give you quadfire ;)

You would have immense gpu power at your disposal but not sure how well quad fire scales in games

Yes it would but due to the layout on my motherboard it would mean that one card would not have enough space to breath and it could overheat.


Plan was to remove one card and replace it with the HD7990 card.

Only concern I have is the coil whine when running HD7990 card some people have had this cab be a major problem

True some have had coil whine but I will wager a bet no larger a percentage than usually get the whine, besides if it does have the whine you just bang on customer services door and arrange either an exchange within 14 days or a full refund.

Am not on commission but I cannot see these dropping to this price again until Hawai has hit and settled :)

Just order one.

Any suggest which is the best slot to use with the HD7990 top or the bottom?

Just use it as you would any other card Simon, use the same slot on your motherboard unless for airflow it might work better in another depending on your case layout :)

Thanks I will try the bottom slot first as it is cooler and easier to remove that card from the machine.
 
Cheers for that I could not resist any longer so its ordered. Got 2 mates who are buying my 470s £50 each so cheap upgrade. Hope i like AMD ive been with Nvidia quite a while now :)
