theres plenty of room for a bigger IC but would this make the turbo even more laggy?

I guess it depends on whether its a VNT like the 130 TDCI or a wastegate turbo...

Ahh, sorry to hear that matey. Still, if its a cheap enough fix then its not all bad given the purchase price
