Late last night the offices of Los Angeles-based independent game studio Robotoki were stormed by the Los Angeles Police Department after a curious designer pressed the building's "panic" button, studio founder Robert Bowling told Polygon.

The 911 response ended in a tense showdown with a life-sized statue of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Simon "Ghost" Riley, which the police mistook for a gunman.

Lol how funny would off that been, "get on the ground" :D

They seem to be taking it in reasonably good humour. :)

"Our studio is equipped with a 'panic' alarm in case of an armed threat, which was installed yesterday," Bowling said. "One of our designers, who shall not be shamed, pressed it on his way out because apparently when boys find buttons that they are unsure of, their first instinct is to push it."

The numpty who pushed the button deserves a talking to tbh... Surely the company would be fined for this?

Says in the article that they weren't.

It's a bit silly though, why put an emergency response button in without telling people what it is? What good is it if the people it is supposed to help don't know it has been installed?

Didn't know this??

Pretty much anyone who is famous will get death threats. The youtuber Nerdcubed, who doesn't usually say much that is controversial, said that he gets at least one per day. With the 'quality' of games that infinity ward has produced it doesn't surprise me that they've got some.

Was the panic button labelled to say that it would call in the police, or are we just talking about a big red button that said "panic button"?

Really? Most of their games have been good games. Sure MW2 was unbalanced in many aspects but the single player was decent and multiplayer was incredibly fun albeit frustrating at times and of course no dedicated servers was a massive kick in the teeth for PC gamers.

I wouldn't really count MW3 as an Infinity Ward game considering how much changed between MW2 and MW3 at Infinity Ward.

If it's anything like the U.K then they already have to pay for the police panic button. A once in a while false alarm should be covered in these costs one would think.
