I dont play fortnite and have no interest. I however wasnt even aware they had a store like steam.

am i missing out not having their launcher e.g are there decent exclusive esk titles over there ? better prices?
i know borderlands 3 is and I shall deal with that at the time of release but I mean in the mean time do i need it?

Hey you worms, get out of this can.

There seems to be some Anti-Epic-Launcher league of complainers. I am not actually sure why, I installed the Epic launcher for Fortnite and I have enjoyed the free games they give out each month.

Personally not brought anything on epic. But have it installed and fire it up occasionally to get the free game they rotate in and out. Have 10 now from there free offers May buy some games which they have exclusive deals for like Phoenix point.

Honestly I would grab it just to get the free games if nothing else.

Won't spend a penny on this storefont, exclusive deals are ridiculously anti-consumer practices.
Since a lot of gamers. including me, have expressed rage over EGS. and Epic is paying the exclusive deals, Epic would eventually loses money faster than it earns, therefore the future of EGS is still in a very unstable state, I hardly can see how Epic would invest into EGS for the promised features in their roadmap announced lately.
Just create an account and grab some free games for each 2 weeks.

RAGE! I tell you.

This makes no sense, I don't understand why you are upset at Epic?

I don't quite understand how it's anti consumer? I haven't found any reason to install the Epic Store yet but i probably will, so i'm curious as to why it's anti consumer.

I've had the Epic launcher for years (you use it to get Unreal Engine dists)...bought a bunch of assets on the marketplace.

Now you get free games on it....win I guess? It's fine.

People aren't complaining about the actual launcher itself, even though it offers next to no features when compared to Steam and other platforms, they're more concerned about the shady practices of Epic and it's parent company.

Personally haven't bought anything on there as of yet because there haven't been any titles that I've seen as must haves.
I think it's worth having the client installed though because they've been giving away a free game on a monthly basis.

I bought Metro Exodus on it and I will 100% definitely be buying Borderlands 3 on it. For me its got no significant pluses or minuses over any other launcher and I see them all as just launchers and as such if there is a title on it that I particularly want, I'll buy it.

I came across this video this afternoon which caught my interest and covers online streaming services. It also mentions online gaming services from about 9.50.

I personally won't buy anything from the Epic store as I find it very anti-consumer.

These arguments just go round in circles. Those that don't care for Steams features won't care about the launcher they use, those that make use of Steams features won't want to buy a game on a barebones launcher for the same price they would have bought it on the feature rich steam launcher. Only you know if you make use of Steams features, so the choice is yours, buy on Epic now , or wait 6 months for the retarded exclusivity deal to end then buy on Steam.

Free to create accounts!
Another store to ensure there is no monopoly in the industry!
Consumer can chose where they send their business for multi store front titles!
Free Games!

And this guy rages. What am i missing?

Epic pooped in his Cheerios.

As yet, I have not seen a single valid reason to be so upset over Epic and its launcher. There may be some, and people talk about it like there are. Yet no one is saying what they are

Three very simple reasons:

- Epic store is barebones, featureless platform that offers nothing over its competition while missing almost all of its features

- While being this barebones, Epic deemed it a great idea to moneyhat third party developers for exclusivity, so their games can only be purchased there and people are stripped of choice of where to buy their games. No pricing competition either, so it is "Epic's way or the highway"

- PC gamers generally hate artificial (paid for) exclusivity, especially on their open platform

If you still don't get it that's on you, but this is the gist of it
