In other news, this thread is one of the least focussed music threads evar. As someone pointed out, the OP is basically asking for movie soundtrack type music, but now we've got the world and his wife posting an enormous variety of music videos because no one can agree on what "epic" means.

Me, I came in here to mention Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell, but clearly I was on the wrong track.

As the Op mentioned Coldplay - Fix you, i thought this might be an appropriate cover, it may not be Epic but it certainly brings home the meaning of the song!

I suppose you could also say Hoppipolla is the same. Great song that. Saw them live at Rock Werchter festival in Belgium in 2006 and they were immense.

The original poster said that Journey - Don't Stop Believing is the sort of thing he was looking for so it's not even film soundtracks as such. Overblown stadium rock/power ballads might be more like it, maybe Boston - More Than A Feeling or Amanda could fit. Asia - Heat Of The Moment, Toto - Africa or Hold The line as another few.
