I've bought a whole load of Uplay games from Epic store - as far as I was aware - with the accounts linked I should just be able to see them in Uplay ?

well I sort of can but all those I didn't buy/activate direct are shown as installed but greyed out so won't auto update or run from Uplay. some are just greyed out, some say Uplay+ expired (Wildlands)

if I run any of them from Epic games store, they update and for a while the games in Uplay aren't greyed out, but a few days later and greyed out again until run from Epic games

any ideas please ? its a right faff

any help much appreciated

@Buckster sorry buckster that sounds annoying as hell. ive only ever bought from steam/uplay have you tried adding the game as third party game on steam to launch the game from steam see if it has the same issue?

might not be epic related but Ubi API

No need to do that. Purchasing games from Ubisoft via Epic Games requires you (to play) to link your Epic Games account to uPlay. By linking the accounts any games purchased via Epic is automatically synced to uPlay where you can play direct from uPlay's launcher (if you prefer). I bought Far Cry 5 Gold Edition recently via Epic and it's now sitting nicely in my uPlay account too.

Regarding OP I would uninstall them games I'm having problems with and reinstall them via uPlay if you prefer to launch directly through that.

Alternatively log into Epic games and make sure your ubisoft account is linked to epic games, I had to resync it for Far Cry to show in uPlay.

Thanks for the replies the problem is that although accounts linked the games aren't shown up as purchased

They show as being installed but can't be run from uply as says uplay+ subscription expired (I did a month free trial ages back)

If I launch them from epic store they'll run

Another one I bought division 2 today and linked to uplay it shows up in my games in uplay but again with uplay+ expired

It's almost like my suspended uplay+ subscription status is over ruling my epic games store purchases

Those games I've bought from uplay or bought other than epic store and activated directly in uplay don't have this problem

I just retested all epic store bought uplay games either greyed out or greyed out uplay sub expired including division 2 which I haven't installed yet

Launched Wildlands from epic store said logging in let it run then quit

Now all epic store bought games as showing owned in uplay

But I'm sure if I go into uplay tomorrow or in a week's time they'll reshow not available uplay plus expired :( frustrating as anything

I'd bought Satisfactory for my son ages back on Epic store for him

he instead of linking Epic to my Uplay had setup one under his mums name - he thought was just for that game

since then all my purchases have linked to her account

the reason they show up as not purchased when I launch uplay is they are not on my account

when I launch from Epic - it in the background logs out my uplay, and re-logs into Uplay under my sons mums account !

grrrrrr - a whole load of tickets to raise now to sort out

to be fair he thought was linking for one game

I have similar with The Division - I got it through a Steam trial + discount - I see different stuff in uplay (same account) depending on whether it is launched via Steam to play the game or started up directly. It is a thing with uplay and annoying.

EDIT: Though it isn't doing it right now - maybe they changed it - been awhile since I last looked into it.

be careful buying DLC for them

I was gifted assassins creed origins on steam, which added it to my uplay. I bought the DLC on uplay when it was on sale and they were incompatible. The base game and DLC have to be purchased from the same store.

Not experienced that here. I bought The Division 2 on Epic and bought both the WoNY Expansion pack and the 2nd season pass on Uplay - all worked fine.
