How old is this drive?
Weren't these last produced in the 1990's?
What interface does it use?
A jumper?
An old motherboard, HDD or DVD drive if you have any knocking about.
you might have to manually set it up and set the number of cylinders .... From memory some bios had problems reading the settings. Might explain why you cant read it.
Brings back a few memories. Used a fair few fireballs.

From memory you select the HD change it from auto and you should have options to set the parameters.
