Ergonomic gaming mouse?

OK folks, my ANCIENT Logitech Mouseman Wheel (so old I played Q3A on release with this!), is finally giving up the ghost - the right mouse button is FUBAR.

As I have RSI, I would like something equally comfortable to replace it, an asymmetrical sculpted right-handed mouse with a nice place to rest my thumb on. Something not too dissimilar to what I've currently got:

Something with good build quality and 2-3 extra thumb buttons for MMOs would be good, but comfort is the primary criterion.

Before anyone suggests it, I've tried Evoluent's VerticalMouse, I've found it to be pretty comfortable for prolonged use after I got used to it, but not ideal for games. Because I tend to click my mouse buttons pretty hard I find it can nudge the cursor position, especially if I'm also using a thumb button instead of simply keeping my thumb still to act as a counterweight to my clicking. Besides, I've had some driver problems with them under Windows 7 (the cursor would wobble in place), and since the company is based in LA and don't have a support centre in the UK I'd rather not risk an expensive return. After using the Vertical Mouse for a couple months, I eventually went back to the Mouseman and found that its sculpted right-handed design was a perfect compromise between the vertical no-wrist-strain hand position the VerticalMouse let me keep my hand in and the higher accuracy and agility I could get with an ordinary "flat" ambidextrous mouse.

I'm mostly a fingertip mouse user so sometihng not too massive. I'd rather not spend more than £50 or so, but I'm willing to go significantly above if anyone absolutely swears by the comfort levels of a particular mouse that costs more. This is my health that's on the line after all.

I've had a browse around ocuk, and mice that seem like they'd be comfortable for my needs include the following:
Corsair Raptor m45
Logitech G700 (what's the difference between this and the 700s btw?)
Gigabyte Krypton (looks sculpted and comfy but not too crazy about the glowing blue buttons)

I'm also extremely curious about the Mad Catz Cyborg. It looks like a torture device employed by unscrupulous corporate security chiefs in a dark Cyberpunk future, but I've read that it's actually extremely adjustable to accomodate all hands and can be very comfortable if you take the time to adjust it. Has anyone used one?

I remember that mouse.. :)

I've currently got a g500 - as Eames said, has a nice big cutout for the thumb to sit in nicely, and also has 3 thumb buttons too.

The Performance MX does look comfy, but I'd rather not go for a gaming mouse since it's for gaming. Battery, interference, reception issues, I've had them all... So I guess that rules the Performance MX out, unless there's an equivalent wired version?

Seems the best bet out of the Logitechs so far is the G500s, unless I stretch to the G700s so I can have the option to go wired or wireless as I please.

Nobody own the crazy-looking Cyborg thing then?

G602 might be a good option, similar to the performance MX and the G700 but with a much longer battery life. Personally I'm now using a G700s and love it but changing the battery is something that starts to get repetitive as it doesn't last long even on eleloops.

Started using a micro usb cable that came with a samsung phone and using it wired now. The cable is soft and movable unlike the stock cable and has some molding that matches the g700s almost too perfectly.

This is the cable from samsung.

and connected into the G700s.

So if you can cope with the battery life or find an alternative cable the g700s would be great, if not take a look at the G602.

I'd rather just stay wired tbh. Narrowed it down the Cyborg R.A.T.7 and the Logitech G500s - anyone used both of those (or similar mice) and can offer an opinion?

The Cyborg looks like I could adjust it to fit me perfectly, but browsing through the forums it seems some members have had problems with theirs failing after a few months. Logitech's reliability and great service is definitely a huge plus for me!

I'd get a g602 rather than a g700. I have both, an much prefer the g602

If you have RSI then get a Logitech m570 trackball. Can use for hours without any pain
Is alright for mmo type gaming, but not sure for hardcore fps

Ps the guy aboves g700s sliders are knackered looking at that picture
