My right wrist is absolutely killing me. :( I work on my computer all day and hence use my mouse a lot.

Can anyone recommend a good mouse that might help with this?

Razer death adder, can't get more ergonomic than that. Its very low in width, so your wrist doesn't bend upward much at all.

I got the roccat after my death adder left my house :'(
I would say the Roccat is just as good, but is a bit taller. But is very comfortable and the thumb slot is near perfect and the weight is adjustable, so can be lighter therefore easier to move.

But my vote goes for the death adder for prolonged "usingness"

THAT MOUSE IS A MONTRASOTY!!
lol, but good be good for all I know *shrugs* never tried something like that, would rather for a track ball mouse instead of that.

Btw, check out ergocube (a website) they specialy for mice like that.

A comfortable mouse will help, however I had the same problem after using a mouse for 12hours + every day for the last 11years. I had so much pain I was lying awake at night.

Got myself a mouse mat with some gel support for my wrist at work and home and this solved the pain in my wrist. After about 4months of using these I still find them kind of uncomfortable but I have no more pain so will keep using them.

yeah that is one ugly mouse! And from the dimensions it will take up about half my 1600MM desk ;)

Considering how common this problem is among computer users you would think there'd be more out there!

ZeniTimes, something else that I have been told by people struggling with wrist problems (spend a bit of time investigating into this problem) is to use a trackball mouse. Most people will find it strange getting used to but it does apparantly help. I don't have any experience myself using one.

Have a Logitech G5 myself and find it very comfortable. I struggle whenever I have to use on of these small cheapies again.

well it's either find a solution to this or find another career.

I've heard of something called carpal tunnel syndrome and it doesn't sound good!

You should proberbly looking at good chairs and supportive mousemats as well, it may not even be the mouse but the position you are holding it in and the pressure that may cause on your wrist or the friction from the mouse+(mat). Good luck, these things are worth investing in if you spent a long time at a computer.

Mice are very personal. Cant really get any useful advice except for suggestions online.

Best get out to a shop and try some out.

My Roccat Kone is a superb fit for me, but almost all Razers Ive used are horrible.

^:O DON'T SAY BAD WORDS ABOUT RAZER!
its a sin!
and those logitech looks quite speffy. But not worth it.
But the reviews beg to differ.
For the money, go for the kone or deathadder IMO

for what its worth i'd advise going down the line of getting a mouse mat with gel support for the wrist. worked with mouse a keyboard for about 7 years and tried numerous different mice with no real difference in comfort. soon as i got the gel support mouse mat problem solved. tho dont try using the mat for gaming, its a damn nightmare lol

A few people have already touched on what I think is more important. Look at your seating position. I'm 6'7" and have had constant problems with wrist/arm/back and neck aches over the years by using furniture that is designed for you 'normal size' midgets. I can't tell you how much things have improved since adjusting the height of furniture such as the chair, desk and monitor position. Just google "computer posture" and see how your position compares.
I use a Logitech G9 gamers mouse and TBH I can't stand touching any other mice. As someone else pointed out, a mouse is a very personal thing especially if you use it for long periods of time. I use my G9 on very high sensitivity settings with a gel wrist rest which means I control it with the slightest moves of the fingers and not the wrist and arm. Takes a bit of getting used to but once you do, there's no going back to 'slow' mouse control. It has easily switchable presets so you can change between multiple resolutions and button controls.
Also it comes with 2 interchangeable shells and extra weights. I prefer the 'gamers' shell over the ergonomic one but hey, it's personal preference.

My top tip is though.......get a 'executive stress ball toy'. Give it a squeeze every 20mins or so for a minute or two. I kid you not, it helps.

My arm was quite bad at one point. Every time I rotated my forearm back and forth my elbow used to click. This would come from within the joint and as you can imagine was quite a concern. Went to the doctors who referred me to a physio. She told me pretty much the same as everyone else on this post.

I purchased a gell filled mouse mat and keyboard support, which fixed the click within a few weeks. The thing was, I was still having pain in my forearm. So after some discussion at work I was advised to get a grip master (or whatever them forearm training things are called). I do this for about 15 minutes every other day (1 minute of use, 1 minute rest) and all the pain and annoyance has disappeared.

From the post here, I’d say this is quite a common problem amounts people who work with a keyboard and mouse all day.

Also, work offered me a risk assessment which entails someone coming over and checking the setup of your desk and chair. Would most probably be worth getting one of these as well
