Anybody know what Erith is like? The house prices in Erith seem pretty cheap and the trains from there to London Bridge is approximately 40/50 minutes which make them quite appealing!

I lived there for many years until moving up north 3 years ago, it is a dump. The houses are cheap for a reason.
Car crime is high, street crime is high, chav to decent person ratio is outrageously high.

If you want more specific info, email my trust address.

It's in a nice little nine planet system situated within the goldilocks band. The majority of the planet is covered with water, about 70% and the local inhabitants are trying their best to use up all the natural resources and destroy the atmosphere but apart from that it makes a fine location for a holiday home.

But isnt that just London in general?

It's a bit wierd as it happens. It falls inside the M25 and is within 'Bexley London Borough' but some services are governed by Kent County Council.

Either way, with a very small number of exceptions it is a nasty place.

Is there any places that are decent around that area.......? Crayford oe bexley?

Individual roads can be nice, but the problem with that area is that seeming nice pockets are very closely surrounded by dire areas.
Sidcup has a reasonable amount of nice areas, but is more expensive. Blackfen is normally ok, but again has very crappy parts riddled throughout.

It's hard to give areas that are nice as the boundaries are very blurred.

My uncle lived in erith for many years, used to go there every so often, its pretty chavvy, but seemed pretty quiet around his area. Wouldnt say its London though, its nothing like London.

Erith is, as has been mentioned many times already, a pretty bad place :P

Scummy and Chavvy, there are some quite nice places fairly near, though

It's cheap, and that's why I moved there. It was the only place inside the M25 that I could buy a 3 bed end of terrace for under £100k. We bought and sold at the right time and having made a healthy profit escaped, but I'd never recommend buying now.
Be careful thinking about the train journeys. Erith and Slade Green serve that area, and a lot of trains don't stop at either (although SG is worse for that).
because of this the platforms are crowded and it is quite often you'd not get a seat.
Also on the Gravesend>London bridge line there is a lot of begging in the trains, and I've witnessed several violent attacks particularly at night.

That said, I've never been attacked myself, but have had my car seriously vandalised on several occasions.
