Errm have I killed my cpu?

Well I lapped the cpu and put everything back together.

When I hit the power button the fans spin up but I don't get anything on the screen and no beeps from the motherboard

I feel sick

I would be surprised if you did, didn't break any of the little chips off the bottom or anything did you?

No everything was intact & protected bar the IHS

Bugger can'tfind out what no beeps means... the HDD doesn't spin either

Might have broken the mobo when reinstalling the cpu ? sure the cpu is in thr right way round ?

Cpu is in the right way around... tried the memory in different slots too.

Just tried it without a cpu and it doesn't beep then either... hmmm

YAY it just started working again!!!
Big huge relief!

My idle temp is now 39c as opposed to 50c before lapping & AS5 paste with the ninja...

Now its time to try the Tuniq 120, which looking at the build of it seems a much better cooler!
