Hey,

What is this?

And something else, I believe to be related.

We had no internet connection for 4 days (No, I didn't nearly die :p, yes that mythical place called the "outside" does exist :D), and we ended up spending about 6 hours on the phone to Orange (our ISP :(:().

Yesterday, we got a connection - however now we cannot open more than 80% of websites (ironically this, and Halifax are the only pages I can get on). When we try to connect to other websites we get the message:

This web page is not available
The web page at <webpagehere> might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.

There is another thing, we can only get a connection in the main phone line (i.e. no extensions) which means my PC and my Dads laptops are the only ones working (wireless, a brilliant thing ;)).

To top if off, our connection is ****. I've been dling Mafia II for 28 hours, and its only 15% through.

Now this is getting more than slightly annoying. A good chunk of my homework is uploaded to my schools VLE - which I can't access. My Mum runs her own business, and can't access her e-mails - which could have nasty implications.

Any ideas? Orange related? To do with our exchange? (Run by BT).

We've pretty much ruled out the router for obvious reasons.

Other info you may need:

ISP: Orange.
Router: Livebox (the old, massive one, not the new compact one).

Any ideas will be appreciated and tested,
Thanks,
Cookeh

have you tried googling the error message or checking the Orange forums ?

At a guess I would say the DNS server you are using is not working properly try a different one, there are a few free ones you can try if you google them.
OpenDNS is one.
