Error Code 43

So I've picked up a card I was assured is 100% working, but it's not...

It's a Palit StormX GTX 1050 Ti and it boots fine, gives output... But once the driver's installed, Windows disables it with this error.

Looks like it had the wrong BIOS on it which I'm sorting now, but what are the odds it's a hardware problem? Is the card just borked?

Id just return it, if you can, no need to deal with the hassle.

Sadly it was from gumtree, I took a risk and lost. I was very careful to make them state it was fully working, beforehand and on the meeting. Dishonest people about, though I'd like to be hopeful in future.

Flashing the correct BIOS made no difference so I guess I'll have to whack it on the bay to recoup costs.

What about the bios in your motherboard?

What you could have done is had them show you proof of it working in an actual PC. Whether that be a video or in person.

Indeed, I did enough to be confident but clearly the person's happy to lie to my face. In future I'll insist on seeing stuff working.

The motherboard is H81 so not a lot of updates lately but I'll check, thanks MarkeR

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried it in a different pc maybe, or DDU, or clean install?

Tried DDU several times. My other PC is at a different house but I could try it. It's for my nephew anyway so I so I could have tried going over there. Didn't want to disappoint him!
