Error Message On New Build

Having put together my new build, every time after copying over the windows files, from the cd ,setup says starting windows I get the blue screen of death with this error message telling me to check any new hard drives

stop: 0x0000007b (0xf7975524,0xc0000034,0x00000000,0x000000000)

I have ran chkdsk and reformatted all hard driives but am still getting the error any help much appreciated

Motherboard is Gigabyte GA_965P_S3

looks like a memory address. try a different stick of ram.

Have tried diferent RAM already and does not solve problem..?

Ones new and one is about 2 yrs old....have tried both of them on there own as well and still same issue.....

I take it your copy of windows is good. cd not scratched and that?

odd, the only thing i think it could be is the motherboard. but it still seems unlikey.

Try one stick of RAM and not both at the same time. Could be a borked memory slot on the mobo if you say your RAM's ok, it will most probably be the RAM though.

stick in a diffrent cd or try a live cd...

id check bios too make sure your ram isnt on sily settings

I've got the same problem right now with a rig im building, tried diff mem and yet still blue screens on start up once it hits desktop, so im playing the elimination game... I'll report back if i solve the problem.

Make sure any options in the bios to shadow are disabled. Video bios shadowing especially. Also turn off all on board devices that can be left till later, it maybe caused by some sort of silly conflict regarding resources. So disable stuff like on board firewire/network/usb (unless you have a usb keyboard of course ) and sound etc. Then try and see what happens.

Well result in the end for me; turned out to be a duff HD, uppon closer inspection i could hear a few unhealthy noises comming from it, replaced it and alls fine.

Wonder if the guy with main thread post has sorted his blue screen issue yet... :confused:
