Error Occured RAID (0)

Hi,

A friends Dell machine has just had the follow appear message appear on screen : -

Raid Volume Error

Some data requests to a hard drive in a RAID 0 volume failed, but a backup may be possible. Please backup your data immediately.

I do notice that when he turns the computer on, both hard drive in the RAID 0 volume have read errors next to them.

Are both hard drives faulty? and should w replace them both?

First of all back up what ever you can from the Array ASAP. Then use a diagnostics checker on both drives to ascertain what the problem is.

Okay, I will get them to backup ASAP.

What tools do you use to test the drives? Would standard scan disk / chkdsk do?

What make are they? I use Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics on my drives. The DOS version.

Presuming its the same error. Nothing wrong with the disks otherwise, but dunno why it does it
