When using "Hard Disk Sentinel" one of my 1.5 f2 samsungs it says: "Problems occurred between the communication of the disk and the host". What does this mean is the drive failing or something; i did a quick scan and it passed?

I have been using the drive for a while with NTFS; so does anyone know what the "Problems occurred between the communication of the disk and the host" is all about?

I am using it in the icybox caddy/dock thing; but i have tried a different caddy and the same issue arises. What exactly does this mean any how?

I'm not familiar with the software you're using, but if I suspect a hard disk is acting up then I have a look at the smart data and in the windows event log for any clues, and run the manufacturer's diagnostics (ESTOOL for samsung).
It's perhaps the software not recognising the (USB?) interface of your dock thing and misreporting a problem - I'd connect it directly to one of your motherboard's sata ports and try again.
