As it looks abit dated...is there any texture mods etc like GTA IV have lerking around? I really want to remember the story before Skyrim but have it look even better? Not sure if this has been brought up before, sorry if so, just bored and need a game to play :P

Yeah, good luck getting it running before skyrim is released. ;)
(keep it simple if you want to avoid many headaches!)

If you're just after texture mods, then something like Quarl's texture pack should sort you out nicely.

However, if you want better textures and a fairly easy overhall mod (that goes someway to mending the wierd levelling system) then just go for OOO.

If i remember rightly, you can still fiddle with some of the settings whether you prefer them or not... and if you find yourself getting walloped too often there's always the difficulty slider ;)

I'm using Qarl's and a couple of lighting mods to make it more realistic (light actually comes from the torch/lamp more realistically) and makes a torch in most caves a necessary. Also got something to improve the water shaders a lot and sort the draw distance and pop ups out. Took a bit more than 30 mins to do it all and has really made the game look better without going too OTT like some mods.

Ive just speant 2 days trying to mod morrowind.. both times i have got closer to a fault free game, but not quite.. in the end ive decided to play oblivion but as it it. no mods etc.

The story - emperor gives you his amulet, he gets killed by assassins, you go to jauffre and say "the amulet, wtf", he then tells you to close oblivion, you then travel to kvatch where therees a oblivion gate, then they all start popping up but only outside major cities making them easy to find, you then go through each one and close it and win the game.

Has anyone ever done a flight or even glide mod for Oblivion? Game could really have done with a feather-fall type spell, would have made getting down mountains much more fun :)

instead of making a new thres, ill ask it here:

ive just picked up this game from steams midweek deal, so im after some slight graphical mod to improve the lighting and textures. i dont fancy messing with the game too much though, is there any simple mods out there that will work with the steam version?
