Hi all,

I have an internal 3.5" 2TB hard disk which goes back and forth between two machines

on one of the machines I have installed a 5.25" internal hot swap bay which is then connected up internally via the SATA port.

unofrtunately I am unable to do this on the second machine so I have to find an external solution. I've been looking around and startech do an external esata hot swap enclosure but I think it's an old model as it states slow esata performance and usb2.

Does anyone know of a more current model? ideally esata3

as a last resort I'd look for something like the akasa usb3 adapter but it's not ideal as I will end up having a bare drive sat on the desk

Luckily on the second machine I have a spare esata port

Thanks!!

Don't bother with USB 3.0 drives - they're BS and slow unless you've got an SSD in there. Also be weary of the drive size limits on them so it's ...

Esata / sata all the way. I picked up 2 SATA only caddies off the bay for a tenner each and I must admit.... not bad not bad at all.

I've also got one of them desktop dock things in the post again only a tenner from the jungle. It's usb2/esata so obviously I'll be using the esata port ;) I'll be using that to boot different OSs off
