Need help guys. I have an eSata enclosure (Akasa) with a Sata HD inside. It has the option to work under USB. The HD is recognised under USB but not eSata!! Any ideas?

When i go into 'Disk Management' (Vista) it says "Unknown / Unreadable". It worked when i used to have a different Motherboard. I have a Gigabyte one now (GA-MA69GN-S2H).

eSata is via an Akasa ESATA-45-EX eSATA Backplate

When i switch it over to read via USB it works ok!

That's a tad bizarre....

First thing that springs to mind is making sure that the SATA controller which is driving the eSATA port is configured correctly in the BIOS and has the right drivers installed in Windows. Make sure it's running in a non-RAID mode if possible.

What board was it working on and what's it connected to now?
