esata problems.

I have bought an Akasa Integral.

I have plugged the power in and attached the esata cable from the caddy to the esata port on my Coolermaster Dominator Case which is plugged into one of the sata ports on the motherboard.

I cannot for the life in me get the bios to recognise it. I have tried enabling AHCI in the bios but it only then finds the 1 IDE drive and not the rest of the Sata drives I have.

If I switch to USB mode and plug the USB cable in, Vista instantly finds it. Its just when its in Sata mode that I have the problem. I have also tried booting when the caddy is switched on also.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte P35-DS3L. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to get the drive to be recognised?

I might just have to get one after reading what you have got. :)

There is no internal switch. Just the one on the outside of the case for esata/usb.

I'm completely buggered as to why it won't find it.

Edit: Just tried it on the wife's machine with the esata adaptor and it found it straight away.

Must be something to do with the P35 I have. Time for a P45 then with free delivery. :D

Nope, its not that.

It works fine on the wife's pc. Bios finds it instantly. When I plug it into mine and go into the bios, it takes a little longer to boot into it than normal but still does not find anything. When I pick the sata port in the bios which the caddy is plugged into and do a search, it takes a while also but shows nothing.
