I have an eSATA port on my case connected to my motherboard...

I also have a hard disk lying about with a bunch of stuff on, windows, etc etc

If I buy an eSATA-SATA cable and plug it in will this just work straight away and appear as an external drive so I can transfer some stuff over to my new machine or will it want to format everything?

I'm using Windows 7 RC 32 bit

Oh yeh, haha, that's fine. I don't want to use it as a permanent storage/file transfer solution. Just want to grab about 200GB of stuff off it, making sure it's not going to try and wipe everything before I can access it.

Thanks! *goes off to buy cable...*
