Somehow, I don't think it would be your cup of tea even if it did 250mph and 0-60 in 2 seconds.

Supposed to handle tremendously well, but a bit down on power today. I'm pretty sure it's easy to get more power if you so desired, but most owners will want one because they have a soft spot for them, more than the speed etc, especially given their price. Definite heart over head purchase.

Definite classic/future classic.

Would be a difficult toss up between one and a Lancia Delta Evo2 though ... if ever I have £20k to throw away.

My dad had one in '99 for a few years before he sold it, apparently it started rusting, don't know if that was an issue with these cars or not, I was only 11 at the time so no pics unfortunately. Numberplates last 3 letters were COS, think it was something like P11 COS, in Black with gold OZ alloys.

Actually yes, the A5 3.0 TDI is 5.9 to 60, but stock Escort Cosworths are not under 6 seconds to 60.

Infact, from the Autocar roadtest back in the mid 90's a BMW 528i SE is just one tenth of a second slower to 100mph than a stock Escort Cosworth...
