essential games, what do I need?

Far Cry + 1.4 beta patch + convertor for 64 - 32bit content.
Oblivion
Half Life 2
F.E.A.R
Prey
Doom 3
Quake 4
COD 2
UT2K4 with Chaos UT mod
Battlefield 2

When i first built my PC i got

Far Cry = really good game with excellent environments

HL2 = comes with CSS for hours of online fun, single player is also a good game and good GFX.

Doom 3 & ROE = dark atmospheric and makes you jump in the odd place, a good game IMO.

i also played FEAR, quake 4 and PREY but wasn't as keen on these games. Quake 4 online gave me a few weeks of fun online and the single player is worth playing. FEAR is also OK in single player but i didn't like the online play. I'm currently playing PREY but I'm not to keen on it, I'm not really a fan of weird weapons etc.

Ive yet to play COD 1 and 2 but from the demo of COD 2 i don't think I'll like it.

After just completing fear, i wouldnt put it as essential. Just lend it off someone but the game isnt that good. Just so you save your money on something better :)

Hmmm.......

Well these are the obvious ones:
HL2
Far Cry
Oblivion
Knights of the Old Republic
Knights of the Old Republic 2

Now here are some old favourites of mine:
RA2 (so many hours lost ;) )
Dungeon Keeper (getting quite old now :p )
CS / CSS (so many hours lost lol :D )

I'm currently playing:
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006

Farcry - Must have, great game.

HL & HL2 - Again, both great games.

MOH Pacific Assault (and the others if you haven't played them) - Loved playing
this game although It's quite short, completed it the day I got it on medium.

CSS - Addictive.

Morrowind and Oblivion - Great games but I prefer Morrowind.

Doom 3 (and expansion) - Drags on in parts but a great game with cool
graphics.

Quake 4 - Like Doom 3, great game with nice graphics plus it's really cheap (£10 or so)

:)

IL2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles

Can be had on a DVD collection with its expansions now for about £10 if you look hard enough.

One of the best WW2 flight sims so far.
