Driver, a game that made its debut on Sony’s original Playstation, is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch thanks to the hard working folks at Gameloft.
In Driver, you are an undercover cop named Tanner who is posing as a getaway driver in order to expose a national crime ring. Just like in the original game, you won’t actually be leaving your vehicle, but you will be taking part in a variety of missions such as stopping other cars with your own, delivering stolen vehicles, and transporting important figures in the crime ring.
The game features 40 missions spanning across four giant cities, which includes Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. Each city has working traffic lights, wandering pedestrians, and moving traffic with cops who are always on patrol, which means, at least at times, you must abide by the rules, otherwise you will be forced to outrun the police. Driver also features exceptional driving physics, revamped visuals that take full advantage of the iPhone’s graphical power, a 70s inspired soundtrack, and three other gameplay modes besides the campaign.
Driver is now available in the App Store for $6.99. This one is definitely worth a purchase if you are a fan of driving games in any way, shape, or form.
