Not clear what you mean. With Push the phone doesn't actively search it just waits for Gpush's servers to send a notification to the phone. The Gpush servers use an IMAP connection to your Gmail account and so get updated as soon as email arrives. This then gets pushed to your phone straight away.

That what I thought but when going into the phone after standby the phone hadn't told me I had an email when I did have one. Not sure if it got disconnected somehow.

Is your phone jailbroken by any chance? You cant get notifications unless your phone is activated with itunes because all the messages are relayed via apple to your handset.

The new skype update just informed me about this lol. Says on first start up that skype is only supported by authorised iphones. Gonna check that fix out.


I also got Modern Combat:SandStorm earlier. The games awesome! Easily the best game I've bought that I've been totally engrossed in. I've been waiting for a FPS like this with proper controls! None of this accelerometer ****!

Oh and worms is my other favourite game :D

It's got 'Online Leagues' as part of the 'Connected' menu option.

Now I haven't set up my profile yet but it either means one of the following:

a) Connect to a race over the net and compete in real-time against other players.

b) Race locally either in time-trial or standard mode and upload your stats to their servers which then updates a 'league' style scoreboard.

I've got no idea which of those two it is...

However, you can definitely race head-to-head over Wi-Fi.

I also bought Modern Combat: Sandstorm yesterday and it's not bad. Easily the best FPS on the iPhone/Touch.

My top 4 'real' games are now:

Real Racing
Worms
The Secret of Monkey Island
Modern Combat

For 5 minute blips on the loo etc I like:

Flight Control
Aki Mahjong
Brain Challenge

I like the idea of the mouse, its really hard to click on things using your finger on the current remote control software I use

wyse looks like atempting app not sure which on to go for jadu vnc or that.

Well i went and bought this in the end, having trouble setting it up though, can you help?

I've opened the various port on the router, it's definately open. I've added my PC onto the iPhone but I get a error code -1000, can't connect to the host. Any ideas?
 
im really struggling to get allowance app to work.

phoned o2 the other day to get my user name/password, they said they would send a link to my to set it all up. so ive done that and can see my bill on the 02 site but the login details i created dont work on the allowance app.

do o2 have some different log in details that i need?

or do i need to give it a fews before the app can use the login details?

It should just be the login details that you use to login at o2.co.uk. Takes a few days when changing your username.

Just got the lite version of X2Football 09. Great game!
