Estate boot storage solutions

We don't do anything fancy and don't end up with everything strewn about, sure you get the odd bag fall over or a few things out of place but it's like a 10 second job to put them back in bags when unloading.

Just pack the bags in wedged against each other / other items etc. lie down some bags so they don't fall over. Don't overfill the bags.

That said there's usually some crap in our boot that helps bulk it out a bit, maybe if you have an empty boot and a small shop it's more of an issue, I dunno.

Exactly this. Completely empty boot, two, maybe 3 at a push, 'bag for life's - there's nothing to hold them in place or hold them upright.

I see all the suggestions about boxes. But I really want something which isn't filling my boot with junk the rest of the time. Hence a flat contrivance which takes up no space when not in use sounds ideal.

Fold down plastic crates? I used to keep one slid behind the seats in my Smart. That plus a non slip mat (the neoprene mesh kind) did pretty well.
